Heavy Media Centrifugal Densifiers

The Concord Densifier is used to remove water and purge slimes from a feed pulp of ferrosilicon (FeSi) or Magnetite (Fe₃O₄) heavy media and thereby produce a very dense underflow and a very dilute overflow.

Densifiers are a piece of equipment which are used to maintain and control circulating media density. The Densifier can also be used to effectively recover media in dilute circuits.

Densifiers may be used on dilute circuit to concentrate media before it is sent to a magnetic separator and in this role the Densifier performs an effective de-sliming and de-watering function.

Densifiers differ from Cyclones in three distinct ways.

1. Densifiers work effectively across a broad range of operating pressures from 340KPa to 700KPa.
2. Densifiers handle much greater volumetric feeds.
3. Densifiers are used primarily to perform water / solids separation function.
